Justice Ministry launches new e-services portal
Minister of Justice Bassam Talhouni announced on Sunday the official launch of the Ministry of Justice’s new e-services portal.
This step aligns with the three modernization visions and the public sector modernization plan aimed at automating and digitizing procedures to facilitate user services.
Speaking at a press conference, Talhouni stated that the portal, developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, features enhancements and upgrades to a wide range of services.
These include inquiry services, civil lawsuits, courts, experts, legal aid, e-payment, and notary services. The first phase consists of 46 services—25 newly introduced and 21 improved. He added that the Ministry will launch a second phase with 25 services and a third phase with 29 services, reaching 100 services by the end of the year.
Talhouni emphasized that these services would positively impact litigation processes by reducing case durations and enhancing the business environment.
The new portal comes with several features designed to simplify the use of the Ministry's e-services, including:
- Unified login using the national identification number.
- Seamless navigation between accounts on the same screen.
- Saving incomplete applications as drafts for later completion.
- A dashboard displaying comprehensive statistics.
- Instant notification services.
- Accessibility for individuals with disabilities.
Talhouni noted that as of Sunday, Jan. 26, all services are fully activated across all courts in the kingdom.
He added that the Ministry of Justice had piloted the e-services portal late last month, initially activating the services at the Amman Court of First Instance only. This trial period, which lasted about a month, aimed to address any feedback received during the soft launch.
The Ministry has also prepared user guides and instructional videos explaining all services, which are now available on the e-services portal.
