Official sources told Roya that Jordan has not received any formal notification regarding a freeze on American aid.

The sources added that the bilateral relationship between the two countries remains governed by the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two countries, which continues to serve as the framework for assistance.

In December 2022, Jordan signed an annual cash grant agreement worth USD 845.1 million under the seven-year MoU, ensuring the transfer of regular annual financial support directly to the state treasury.

A US State Department document recently revealed that President Donald Trump's decision to freeze US aid for 90 days excluded Egypt, Israel, and emergency food aid for Gaza amid the ceasefire agreement.

The document also grants US Secretary of State Marco Rubio the authority to approve exceptions on a case-by-case basis.
