Jordan braces for unstable weather as Red Sea Trough advances
Parts of Jordan will be affected by a weather disturbance beginning late Sunday due to the extension of the Red Sea Trough – per ArabiaWeather’s forecasts.
This will result in increased cloud cover and scattered rain, particularly in southern regions. Temperatures are expected to rise 3–5°C above average during the day, with highs ranging from 15–17°C in the mountains and 21–23°C in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba.
By late Sunday, intermittent rainfall and occasional thunderstorms may occur in southern areas, accompanied by moderate southeasterly winds.
As night falls, the weather is expected to turn colder across Jordan, with temperatures dropping to 5–6°C in Amman and mountainous areas.
The weather disturbance will intensify, bringing increased cloudiness and scattered rain that may be accompanied by thunderstorms in random locations. Winds will generally remain light but may pick up around rain-bearing clouds.
Monday
Monday will see a slight dip in temperatures, though conditions will remain 2°C above average. While much of the country will experience cool, partly cloudy weather with occasional rain, the eastern regions and desert areas are forecasted to receive more consistent rainfall.
Thunderstorms and hail may also develop locally. Winds will remain light and variable, with occasional gusts in the eastern regions.
By Monday night, temperatures will remain cold across the country, with cloudy conditions prevailing. In eastern Jordan and desert regions, intermittent rain is expected, accompanied by occasional thunderstorms and hail. Winds will stay light and variable.
