Drone drug smuggling attempt thwarted by Southern Command
The Jordanian Southern Command thwarted an attempt to smuggle quantities of narcotics loaded on a drone on its western front within its area of responsibility on Tuesday.
A military source at the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces - Arab Army (JAF) stated, "The Border Guard forces in the Southern Military Zone, in coordination with military security agencies and the Drug Enforcement Administration, thwarted an attempt to smuggle narcotics using a drone that tried to cross the border illegally. The rules of engagement were applied, and the materials were dropped within Jordanian territory. The seized items were referred to the relevant authorities."
The source confirmed that JAF is working with determination and resolve to utilize all available resources to combat such operations and prevent infiltration and smuggling to maintain the security and stability of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
