AFP reported that the Syrian Prime Minister stated he would be at the Cabinet on Sunday morning, ready for any measures to hand over power.

Reuters reported Sunday that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad had left the country on a plane heading to an unknown destination, according to two Syrian army officers.

This news comes amid escalating developments in Syria, where armed factions announced they had begun entering the capital, Damascus, just hours after confirming their control of Homs, the country’s third-largest city.

In a statement published on Telegram, the armed factions said, “Our forces have begun entering the capital, Damascus,” while residents in the city told AFP they heard intense gunfire in the streets.

Meanwhile, CNN reported that defenses in the capital had collapsed, allowing the armed factions to advance into Damascus early Sunday.

According to Reuters, the opposition factions confirmed, "There are no signs of Syrian army deployment in Damascus."
