Ahmad Safadi elected speaker of 20th Jordanian Parliament
Members of the House of Representatives elected Ahmad Al-Safadi as Speaker of the 20th Parliament. Al-Safadi secured 98 votes, while his opponent, Saleh Al-Armouti, received 37 votes. Two members abstained from voting.
The voting process began during the inaugural session of the 20th Parliament, chaired by the eldest member, Mujham Al-Saqour, along with the two youngest members, Randa Al-Khuzouz and Dr. Mohammad Al-Jarrah.

During the session, Al-Armouti raised concerns about the location of the ballot boxes, requesting their relocation due to the presence of cameras that could potentially reveal the contents of the ballots. He also called on the Speaker to ensure that no mobile phones were used to photograph ballots, stressing the importance of maintaining the integrity of the election process.
