“Israeli” army establishes new division to protect eastern border

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) announced today that Minister of Defense and Chief of Staff Gallant have approved the formation of a new regional division to protect its eastern border.

The decision –according to the statement– was made following a “strategic assessment of operational needs and defense capabilities in the area, aligns with lessons learned from recent conflicts and situational evaluations.”

The new division will come under the wing of the IOF’s Central Command.

It will operate to enhance security along the border, Route 90, and nearby communities – to address “terrorist activities and arms smuggling,” per the statement.
