Former Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.
Long-time Hamas rival Fatah mourns Yahya Sinwar
The Palestinian National Liberation Movement, Fatah, has mourned the martyrdom of Yahya Sinwar, the head of Hamas’ political bureau.
In the statement, Fatah said that the Israeli Occupation government's policy of violence and terror will not succeed in breaking the will of the Palestinian people to achieve their legitimate national rights to freedom and independence.
Fatah called on the Palestinian people to unite and stand in solidarity during this critical and challenging phase of their struggle. It urged for the reinforcement of resilience and resistance against the occupation while rejecting all attempts to undermine the Palestinian cause.
The movement stressed the importance of maintaining the political and geographical unity of Gaza and the West Bank, including Jerusalem, as a single, unified political and territorial entity.
Fatah also extended its deepest condolences to the Palestinian people, the Hamas movement, and the family of the Yahya Sinwar.
