Jordan cruises through Oman in World Cup 2026 AFC qualifiers

The Jordanian national football team secured a dominant 4-0 victory over Oman at Amman International Stadium in the capital, as part of the fourth round of the final stage of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The "Nashama" opened the scoring with a header from Yazan Al-Naimat in the 26th minute, followed by a penalty converted by Ali Al-Alwan in the 48th minute.

Al-Naimat struck again in the 54th minute to net his second and Jordan's third goal, while Al-Alwan completed the rout with a fourth goal in the 87th minute.

With this win, Jordan now sits in second place with 7 points, edging Iraq on goal difference. Iraq remains on 7 points after a 3-2 loss to South Korea, who leads the group with 10 points.

The Jordan Football Association (JFA) said tickets were sold out for the match, which is part of the fourth round of fixtures of the final stage of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

Crown Prince Hussein and HRH Princess Rajwa are in attendance. 

Star player Mousa Al-Tamari was unavailable after suffering from an injury.
