Medical fees in Jordan to rise 60% in latest fee schedule revision
The Official Gazette on Tuesday published the new 2024 medical doctors fees schedule, which will come into effect 30 days after its publication.
The new fees include a 60 percent increase compared to the 2008 schedule.
The increase will be implemented in phases: 20 percent after one month, another 20 percent after one year, and the final 20 percent after two years.
In July 2024, Minister of Health Dr. Firas Al-Hawari had decided to cancel the 2024 medical schedule and revert to the 2008 one, as published in that edition of the Official Gazette.
The minister’s decision was based on his authority under Article 47 of the Jordanian Constitution and Article 3 of Public Health Law No. 47 of 2008.
Al-Hawari had canceled the 2024 medical fees schedule, which had been published in the Official Gazette (Issue No. 5932) on June 13, 2024, and continued to enforce the 2008 agreement.
This remained in place until the Jordan Medical Association (JMA) provided the Ministry of Health with a revised fees list based on agreements reached during meetings of the joint committee formed for this purpose.
