Jordan, Egypt urge immediate end to 'Israeli' aggression in Lebanon
Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty emphasized the urgent need to halt Israeli Occupation aggression against Lebanon during a recent phone call.
They warned that continued hostilities could lead to catastrophic consequences for regional and international peace and security.
In their discussion, part of ongoing coordination between the two nations, Safadi and Abdelatty condemned Israeli Occupation's attacks on Gaza and Lebanon and its escalatory measures in the West Bank, stating these actions risk plunging the region into a comprehensive war.

The ministers expressed unwavering support for Lebanon's sovereignty and the safety of its citizens, denouncing the Israeli Occupation strikes on the Lebanese capital and its impact on civilians. They stressed the importance of Lebanon implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and redeploying its army in the south.
Additionally, they reiterated their commitment to aiding Lebanon in electing a new president and strengthening its state institutions while addressing the humanitarian needs of over one million displaced Lebanese due to the ongoing aggression. Safadi and Abdelatty called on the UN Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities in upholding international law and ensuring an end to Israeli Occupation's hostilities in both Gaza and Lebanon.
