Toward Peace: Jordan, Syria discuss key issues
Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Al-Safadi held a phone conversation today with Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Al-Miqdad.
The discussion focused on efforts to achieve a political solution to the Syrian crisis that preserves Syria's unity and stability, restores security, and creates conditions for the voluntary return of refugees.
Al-Safadi also reviewed the outcomes of his recent meeting with Syrian Foreign Minister Bassam Sabbagh during the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Sept. 28, 2024. During the call, he congratulated Al-Miqdad on his new position as Deputy Foreign Minister of the Syrian Arab Republic.
The two officials addressed the escalating tensions in the region, stressing the urgent need to halt the Israeli Occupation aggression in Gaza and Lebanon, as well as against the Palestinian people in the occupied West Bank.
Al-Safadi and Al-Miqdad further discussed various bilateral issues and agreed to maintain open channels of communication to enhance their relationship and work together toward resolving the Syrian crisis.
