Islamic Action Front wins 'Christian seat' in Amman 2nd District

Independent Election Commission has announced the preliminary results for the local lists in Amman’s Second District during the 20th parliamentary elections.

The Islamic Action Front (IAF) emerged victorious, securing the Christian seat in the district. Jihad Al-Madnat, the party’s Christian candidate, won the seat with a total of 23,726 votes.

This victory adds to the IAF's success in other districts across the country. In the broader preliminary results for the general list, the IAF list garnered a total of 414,141 votes nationwide, making it one of the leading parties in the elections.

Significant portions of their votes came from Amman’s First District (45,047 votes), Zarqa (44,953), and other key areas such as Irbid’s Second District and Balqa.

Other major contenders included the National Islamic List, which secured 78,639 votes, and the Charter Party, which received 79,215 votes.
