The Public Security Directorate (PSD) announced that the unified emergency hotline (911) received approximately 90,000 calls during the first three days of Eid Al-Adha.

Bilal Al-Sarhan from the Operations and Control Directorate highlighted the significant efforts made by the PSD from the morning of the first day of Eid until the end of Tuesday.

In a statement to Public Security Radio, Bilal Al-Sarhan from the Operations and Control Directorate noted that the PSD promptly addressed around 32,000 reports during this period.

Key services included first aid and transportation to hospitals, with a total of 8,032 emergency cases handled. Additionally, the Directorate dealt with numerous reports of random parking that blocked roads and controlled 4,714 different fires across the Kingdom.

Sarhan cited a significant incident where a fire engulfed approximately 150 dunums of dry grass, forest, and fruit trees in the forests of Ajloun.

This fire was extinguished with the cooperation of the Royal Jordanian Air Force, the Jordanian Armed Forces - Arab Army, the Ministry of Local Administration, and the Ministry of Agriculture.

In related news, a Civil Defense media officer emphasized the importance of adhering to safety tips to avoid sunstroke and heat exhaustion as the Kingdom faces hot and dry conditions.

These guidelines include avoiding direct sunlight, drinking plenty of fluids, especially water, wearing light and loose-fitting clothing, and not leaving sanitizers and lighters inside vehicles during high temperatures due to their flammable nature.

The officer also advised against leaving children alone in vehicles while running errands and cautioned against allowing them to play under the sun during peak hours. He recommended wearing protective headgear and taking breaks for those working under direct sunlight for extended periods.

Additionally, he urged people not to start fires in grassy areas, particularly in forested regions, and to avoid dense grass areas that could harbor reptiles such as scorpions and snakes.

The PSD reminded not to hesitate to call the unified emergency hotline (911) if necessary.
