King bids farewell to Oman Sultan at end of state visit

His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bid farewell to the Oman Sultan Haitham bin Tarik at Marka Airport – after the end of his two-day state visit to Jordan.

Earlier, His Majesty King Abdullah II accompanied His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Sultan of Oman, on a visit to the Jordan Museum in the Ras Al Ain area of the capital, in the presence of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II.

Sultan Haitham bin Tariq is visiting Jordan on a two-day visit, accompanied by a high-level official delegation including the Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs, His Highness Shaikh Shihab bin Tariq Al Said, His Highness Sayyid Bil'arab bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of the Diwan of the Royal Court Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Royal Office Lieutenant General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu'amani, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, along with several officials.

King Abdullah II and Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Sultan of Oman, held talks at Basman Palace on Wednesday, discussing fraternal relations and developments in the region.

King Abdullah welcomed Sultan Haitham bin Tariq on his state visit to the Kingdom, while Sultan Haitham expressed his appreciation to King Abdullah for the warm welcome and generous hospitality.

Following the talks, His Majesty received from Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Sultan of Oman, the Order of Al Said, the highest order of Oman, in recognition of his Majesty and pride in the strong fraternal ties between the two countries and peoples.

King Abdullah also awarded the Sultan the Order of Al-Hussein bin Ali, in appreciation of his Majesty and to deepen the strong relations between the two countries, on the occasion of the Sultan's state visit to Jordan.

The Order of Al-Hussein bin Ali is the highest order in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, which was founded on June 22, 1949 by King Abdullah I of Jordan with the intended recipients being foreign heads of state and senior royals.
