Fadi Al-Wadiya, a 33-year-old physiotherapist working for MSF – killed in an attack on Gaza City on June 25, 2024.

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) organization –also known as Doctors Without Borders– said today that one of its staff was killed in an attack on Gaza City this morning.

“We are outraged and strongly condemn the killing of our colleague, Fadi Al-Wadiya, in an attack this morning in Gaza City,” the organization said on its “X” account.

Al-Wadiya was killed while he was cycling to work, near the MSF clinic where he was providing care.

He was a 33-year-old physiotherapist and father of three. He joined MSF in 2018 – this incident marks the sixth killing of an MSF staff member in Gaza since the events of Oct. 7, 2023.

“Killing a healthcare worker while on his way to provide vital medical care to wounded victims of the endless massacres across Gaza is beyond shocking; it’s cynical and abhorrent,” sayid Caroline Seguin, the MSF operations manager for Palestine.

The organization did not specify who carried out the attack, but said they are continuing to verify the details of this horrific incident which is “yet another brutal example of the senseless killing of Palestinian civilians and healthcare workers in Gaza.”

The attack killed five other people, including children – according to the statement.
