The Israeli Occupation ambassador to the United Nations (UN), Gilad Erdan, raised the alleged phone number of the leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, Yahya Sinwar, Tuesday evening during the General Assembly's discussion of a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

Erdan stated in his speech, "If you want a real ceasefire, call Hamas and ask for Yahya Sinwar... Ask Hamas to lay down its weapons and surrender, and then you will get a real and lasting ceasefire."

The UN General Assembly decided, with a majority of 153 supporting countries against 10 opposing countries, on the necessity of achieving an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
