The “Israeli” security establishment believes that Hamas Chief Yahya Sinwar has been out of touch with Hamas and also the Qatari and Egyptian mediators for the past 10 days, and that Hamas has made several decisions without him - Hebrew Channel 12 has reported.

It added that he was not involved in the decision making in the last few days, even those related to the new ceasefire and prisoner exchange proposal that has been put on the table in the past weeks.

The reason for Sinwar’s disappearance is unclear for the “Israeli” security establishment. It could either be that he is on the run, or it is simply too difficult to make contact from a technical point of view - given the ongoing situation of communications in the Gaza Strip, Hebrew Channel 12 added.

The Israeli Occupation Defense Minister Yoav Gallant claimed earlier that Sinwar is “busy with his personal survival” and that he is not leading or commanding Hamas’ fighters.
