“Israeli” Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said Wednesday he was opposed to “Israel” taking military or civilian responsibility for governance of the Gaza Strip after the ongoing war.

"I demanded to find a different alternative to Hamas for power in Gaza, but I did not receive any responses," Gallant said.

"I repeat and make it clear: I will not agree to the establishment of an Israeli military administration in Gaza; Israel must not have civilian control over the Gaza Strip."

On recent disagreements with the United States, Gallant reaffirmed that the relationship with the United States is “essential, strong, and stable.”

“[There are] differences of opinion, but I would like to make it clear that the US was the first to stand with us in actions, not in words.”

“We resolve the disputes in the closed rooms, not in interviews or in tweets,” he said.
