An eight-year-old girl sustained a head injury from a stray bullet in Jerash Wednesday evening.

The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) confirmed that the young girl was taken to a hospital in Jerash after being struck by a stray bullet while she was inside her family's residence.

The child's condition remains critical and she is receiving medical treatment.

Upon receiving the report, an investigative team promptly responded to the scene, initiating the process of gathering information and documenting the surrounding events and festivities near the girl's house.

Within a matter of hours, the team successfully identified the individual responsible, who was associated with local Tawjihi celebrations.

The suspect was swiftly arrested and the firearm used was confiscated.

The spokesperson underscored the PSD's commitment to thoroughly investigate all reports and information received.
