Three people died and five others were injured on Friday in a house fire in Jerash.

The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate stated in a press release that the firefighting and ambulance teams in the Civil Defense Directorate in Jerash, along with the police, responded to a house fire in Musherfeh area in Jerash.

He added that the fire resulted in the death of three individuals due to severe burns, while five other individuals were injured with varying degrees of burns and respiratory distress due to inhaling gases emitted from the fire.

He mentioned that the firefighting teams worked to extinguish and fully control the fire, while the ambulance teams provided necessary first aid to the injured, transporting them and evacuating the deceased to Jerash Governmental Hospital.

The injuries are reported to be under treatment.

The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate further noted that an investigation has been opened into the incident to determine the cause of the fire.
