Traffic Department revealed causes of Mafraq accident

Wednesday, the Central Traffic Department said that the Mafraq accident occurred because one of the drivers was driving his vehicle in the wrong lane.

Additionally, passengers were in excess of capacity in both vehicles, some of whom were not sitting in the designated area for passengers but in the pickup trucks' beds.

Both reasons contributed to the high number of casualties and injuries as a result of the collision.

Tuesday, at least nine people were killed and 12 others were injured in a traffic accident in northern Badia, according to Roya's correspondent.

A security source said that civil defense cadres and security services rushed to the accident scene.

The injured were transferred to a hospital.
