Jordan ranked 96th in the world for the best countries in the world for women to live in 2020, according to a report prepared by an American magazine.

Saudi Arabia ranked first place in the Arab world and 89th globally.

The magazine issued its annual ranking based on a survey of about 256,700 women from 156 countries, according to several criteria and factors, including regional, ethnic, social and economic ones, which play a decisive role in determining the best place for women around the world.

According to the report, Sweden ranked first in the world, followed by Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway and Canada.

It was followed by Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman (91 globally), Jordan (96 globally), the UAE (100 globally), and then Algeria, Sudan, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon and Libya.

The study noted that no country in the world is 100 percent safe for women to enjoy the freedom to live on equal terms with men, but some countries are better than others when it comes to equal rights, social integration and a sense of security.

As for choosing Saudi Arabia as the best country for women to live in among the Arab countries, this is due, according to analysts, to the new social approach and reform steps initiated by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to promote the rights of Saudi women.

These steps are now allowing more space for Saudi women in society and easing the severe legal, social and religious restrictions imposed on them, according to analysts.

Among the most important criteria for evaluation and classification within the list of the best countries in which women can live are gender equality, the percentage of legislative seats occupied by women, a sense of security, income equality and concern for human rights, in addition to women’s empowerment and average years of education among women and the integration of women In the community.
