The Director of the King Abdullah University Hospital in Irbid, Mohammed Al Ghazou revealed on late Wednesday, April 15, that a nurse working at a private hospital in Amman tested positive for coronavirus.

Ghazou explained that the nurse returned to Irbid, where he resides, Wednesday evening after he has been working at the hospital for about 30 days, adding that he didn't undergo a medical test while he was in Amman although he showed COVID-19 symptoms.

Based on the information obtained by the epidemiological inspection teams, the nurse, after arriving at his home in Irbid, greeted his parents and then went to the King Abdullah Hospital for having a COVID-19 test, where the results were positive.

However, the official overseeing coronavirus situation in the northern governorates, Wael Hayajneh, has confirmed this morning that the nurse is in good health condition.

Hayajneh added that the infected had direct contact with a limited number of people, stressing that they were all identified and will be tested.

"The nurse contracted the virus as a result of having contact with a man who died earlier due to the virus at a private hospital in Amman," Hayajneh revealed.
