A number of citizens in Ramtha have organized a protest at the main Ramtha roundabout in Irbid on Sunday, September 2, 2019, demanding the release of those arrested in connection with the riots that took place in the past few days against the government's new amendments on the smuggling law.

Family members of those arrested have called on the government and the responsible agencies to release the detainees, where they confirmed that some of them were detained although they have nothing to do with the riots and protests.
