Razzaz, who attentively followed up through direct phone calls with the Director General of the Civil Defense Directorate (CDD), Maj. Gen. Mustafa Abed Rabbo Al-Bazai’a, is currently coordinating with Minister of Interior, Minister of Transport and Municipal Affairs, Minister of Public Sector Development, as well as Minister of Public Works and Housing to efficiently deal with incident along with maximum attention and speed.

Heavy rains have flooded the area where students were. Many are still lost and a CDD rescue team is still searching for survivors within the high-meters of muddy water.

Razzaz stressed that necessary measures must be taken in order to ensure the safety of these students and their accompanying teachers and citizens in the region.

The Prime Minister urged all civilian and military personnel to immediately evacuate the site. The Minister of Public Sector Development along with CDD are at the scene to follow up with the rescue efforts and the search of missing persons.

Helicopters were dispatched and machines were mobilized from the ministries of municipalities and public works and the Arab Potash Company to help with the search.

Many of the injured were transfered to the South Shouneh Hospital.
