Al-Momani said that supply chains to the Kingdom are operating normally despite the surrounding conditions, revealing efforts to diversify shipping routes:
- Flow of goods: He confirmed that the movement of trucks and ships to Jordan continues as usual.
- Syrian option: He announced that contacts have been made with the Syrian side to use the Port of Latakia as an additional route to ensure the flow of goods and supply chains.
Energy security and operational alternatives
Al-Momani addressed the current energy situation in Jordan, saying the following:
- Fuel shift: He explained that due to the gas disruption, there has been a shift toward using alternative fuel to ensure continued electricity generation.
- Gas shipments: He revealed that gas shipments are on their way to Jordan to boost reserves.
- Oil status: He stressed that the quantities of oil and its derivatives are “secure and in their normal state,” just as they were before the outbreak of the war.
He added that the spikes in global oil prices will not be reflected in the local pricing for the upcoming month of April.
