- Iran vows continued support: Maj. Gen. Ali Abdollahi said Tehran will continue backing what he called the “resistance front” in Palestine.
- October 7 praised: Abdollahi said the Hamas-led attack accelerated what he described as the decline of the ‘Israeli’ regime.
Iran’s armed forces chief of staff, Maj. Gen. Ali Abdollahi, said the October 7, 2023 Hamas-led attack accelerated the decline of ‘Israel’ and pledged that Iran would continue supporting what he called the “resistance front.”
Abdollahi, commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, made the remarks in a message marking the third anniversary of the attack, according to Iranian state broadcaster IRIB.
He said the October 7 assault and the mass capture of ‘Israelis’ had “upset the calculations” of the resistance front’s enemies and transformed what he described as a defensive strategy into an offensive strategy in support of the Palestinian people.
Abdollahi also praised what he called the “epic deeds” of slain leaders, including Qassem Soleimani, Hassan Nasrallah, Ismail Haniyeh and Yahya Sinwar.
He said their legacy would continue and ultimately determine what he described as the fate of the occupying regime.
Abdollahi added that the policies of late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his successor, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, toward Palestine and the resistance front would continue “until the liberation of holy Jerusalem.”
