  • Smotrich claims 104 new West Bank settlements.
  • Calls settlements a protective wall for 'Israel'.
  • Vows continued expansion across West Bank.
  • Says plan fulfills long-standing policy pledges.

'Israeli' Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich claimed defending his government's expansionist agenda in the West Bank on X, pointing to the authorization and establishment of 104 settlements as concrete proof of his policy commitments.

Smotrich, who also oversees settler affairs in the West Bank through a specialized administration within the Defense Ministry, asserted that official declarations regarding settlement expansion are being actively realized on the ground.

In his post, Smotrich highlighted the strategic role that West Bank communities play in national defense. Smotrich wrote that the new developments serve as a physical buffer protecting major population centers in central 'Israel'.

"Just as I promised: We are establishing new settlements that form the protective wall of Ra'anana, Tel Aviv, Givatayim, Jerusalem, and the entire State of 'Israel,'" Smotrich added.

The statement comes amid broader administrative moves by Smotrich to entrench civilian governance over West Bank settlements, reinforcing the current coalition's focus on expanding 'Israeli' presence throughout the territory.
