‘Israeli’ authorities have barred Palestinian football star Musab Abu Salem from leaving the Palestinian territories for Italy, where he was scheduled to participate with the "Palestine Stars Team" in a major humanitarian and solidarity match against Italy's "Napoli Stars Team" in support of the Palestinian people.

According to a statement by the Palestinian Football Authority (PFA), ‘Israeli’ security authorities stopped Abu Salem while he was crossing the Allenby Bridge border crossing between the West Bank and Jordan.

The player was separated from the traveling delegation and subjected to a lengthy and intensive interrogation before authorities issued a decision preventing him from traveling and forcing him to return.

The measure prevented Abu Salem from taking part in a humanitarian sporting event aimed at raising awareness of the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank before European audiences.
