A video uploaded to TikTok has sparked a wave of social media debate after an 'Israeli' fan claimed pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo refused to take a picture with her upon learning her country of origin.

In the viral clip, the fan and a companion recount an encounter with the "Drivers License" singer while riding in the back of a car.

According to the fan's claims, she spotted Rodrigo and approached her. "I'm like, 'Olivia, I love you so much, I'm from Israel,'" the woman explains in the video, transitioning between Hebrew and English. "And then I told her, 'Can I take a picture with you?'"

The fan then asks her companion to mimic Rodrigo's response. "No, not today, sorry," he says, imitating a polite but firm refusal. The fan adds that Rodrigo made a disappointed "mmm" sound before turning down the request.

While the video itself does not show Rodrigo explicitly linking her refusal to the fan's nationality, the clip has quickly gained traction online. Social media users have been quick to connect the alleged snub to Rodrigo’s public stance on the ongoing aggression.

The 23-year-old Grammy winner has previously used her massive platform to highlight humanitarian issues in the region.

In July 2025, she broke her silence on the broader ‘Israeli’ assault on Gaza, posting on Instagram about the "horrific and completely unacceptable" conditions in Gaza, where she highlighted starvation, dehydration, and denial of medical aid to families.
