  • Hezbollah claims multiple attacks on 'Israeli' troops in southern Lebanon.

The Lebanese group Hezbollah announced in seven separate statements on Friday that its operatives carried out a series of attacks targeting 'Israeli' forces and settlements.

The group reported detonating an explosive device in the town of Al-Biyada in southern Lebanon and launching assaults on the settlement of Kiryat Shmona, as well as on 'Israeli' military gatherings in the settlements of Malakiya, Dishon, and the Gilboa Heights site, in addition to targeting a communications hub in the settlement of Me’ilya.

According to Hezbollah, “In defense of Lebanon and its people, the resistance fighters detonated an explosive device at 1:30 a.m. today in the Deir Hana area of Al-Biyada,” causing confirmed casualties that required evacuation by helicopter. The statement added that the fighters subsequently shelled the area with artillery rounds.

Hezbollah further announced the targeting of 'Israeli' troop gatherings with rocket barrages in the settlements of Malakiya and Dishon at 2:15 a.m., followed by another strike at 2:35 a.m. at the Gilboa Heights site north of Kfar Yuval. Later, the group said it conducted a second strike on 'Israeli' forces in Malakiya at 6:00 a.m.

The series of attacks concluded with a rocket strike on Kiryat Shmona at 6:15 a.m., which Hezbollah described as part of a warning to several settlements in northern 'Israel' and as a measure “in defense of Lebanon and its people.”

Since March 2, Hezbollah has been targeting 'Israeli' positions in southern Lebanon and inside 'Israel', following U.S. and 'Israeli' attacks on Iran on February 28.

In response, 'Israel' has conducted airstrikes on southern Beirut suburbs and multiple locations in southeastern and northern Lebanon, including limited ground incursions.
