  • Arab and Muslim foreign ministers condemn 'Israel’s' death penalty law for Palestinians, warning it fuels tensions and targets detainees in the occupied West Bank.

Foreign ministers from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of Turkey, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, and the Arab Republic of Egypt have strongly condemned 'Israel’s' recently passed law allowing the imposition of the death penalty in the occupied West Bank and its actual application against Palestinians.

In a joint statement, the ministers denounced ongoing 'Israeli' measures that they said entrench an apartheid system and adopt an exclusionary rhetoric that denies the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people and their presence in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The ministers described the legislation as a serious escalation, particularly due to its discriminatory implementation against Palestinian detainees. They warned that such actions could fuel tensions and undermine regional stability.

Expressing deep concern over the conditions of Palestinian detainees in 'Israeli' jails, the ministers cited credible reports of continuous violations, including torture, cruel and inhumane treatment, humiliation, starvation, and deprivation of basic rights. They emphasized that these practices reflect a broader pattern of violations against the Palestinian people.

The ministers reiterated their rejection of 'Israeli' policies based on racial discrimination, repression, and aggression, targeting Palestinians.

They called for a halt to 'Israeli' measures that could exacerbate tensions and stressed the importance of accountability.

The statement urged international efforts to preserve stability and prevent further deterioration in the region.
