Hamas military spokesperson Abu Obaida praised mass protests in Syria, saying the demonstrations in support of Gaza, Al-Aqsa Mosque, and Palestinian detainees reflect growing unity across the region.
“From the heart of Gaza, and from Jerusalem and its surroundings, we salute the proud Syrian people and their masses who rose in support of the resistance, Al-Aqsa, and the detainees,” he said.
“We have heard your voice, and we are proud of you.”
His remarks came after large-scale demonstrations across Syria, where protesters condemned ‘Israel’s’ recent law passed by the Knesset, which imposes the death penalty for Palestinian detainees –allegedly– convicted of “deadly crimes”.
In Damascus, demonstrators described the measure as a war crime and called for urgent international intervention to protect Palestinians held in ‘Israeli’ prisons.
