Both ministers stressed the importance of regional cooperation to ensure security, reduce escalation, and pursue diplomacy as the path to stability.
Palestinian territories and humanitarian concerns
The discussions also addressed the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories. Safadi highlighted the need for collective efforts to end the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, prevent ‘Israel’ from annexing the West Bank, and safeguard prospects for a just peace. He stressed full implementation of all elements of US President Donald Trump’s plan regarding Gaza.
Safadi further condemned ‘Israel’s’ continued closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the prevention of worshippers from performing religious rites, calling for an international response to protect freedom of worship and halt these violations.
