Iran signaled readiness to reach a nuclear agreement as soon as possible, ahead of anticipated negotiations in Geneva.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Tehran’s approach is based on supporting peace and stability, stressing that Iran does not seek to destabilize the region. He warned that escalating tensions would harm all countries in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, Iran’s deputy foreign minister told US National Public Radio that diplomacy remains Tehran’s preferred path, emphasizing there is no military solution. “If the United States attacks us, how can it expect us to remain silent?” he said, adding that Iran would respond according to its defensive plans in the event of aggression.

He warned that while war could erupt, ending it would not be easy, and said the entire region would suffer from any attack on Iran. He also dismissed attempts at intimidation, saying that sending forces would not frighten Tehran.

The deputy minister reiterated that negotiations in Geneva will focus exclusively on the nuclear file and said Iran would enter the talks “with sincerity and good faith,” adding that a deal could be reached quickly if there is sufficient political will.
