Iran army says fire broke out at barracks in Tehran

The Iranian military announced that a fire that broke out at a carpentry workshop inside a military barracks in the capital, Tehran, on Friday has been contained.

In a statement, the military said no injuries were reported, noting that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit.

The statement, carried by state media, said, "The fire was brought under control after firefighting teams arrived in a timely manner."

Earlier this week, a fire broke out at a market in western Tehran, but firefighters managed to contain it.

Authorities said at the time that Tuesday’s fire did not result in any injuries.
