Diplomatic meeting in Beijing

Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu met with Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi, in discussions hosted by the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

Gharibabadi briefed China on Iran’s domestic situation and the latest developments regarding the Iranian nuclear issue. He stressed Iran’s commitment to resolving disputes through diplomatic channels and advancing negotiations based on fairness and justice. He also expressed opposition to external pressure and deterrence, while welcoming China’s contributions to regional and global peace.

China’s position

Miao outlined China’s principled stance, affirming support for Iran in safeguarding its sovereignty, security, national dignity, and legitimate rights. He emphasized that China opposes unilateral bullying, the use of force, and interference in other countries’ internal affairs.

Miao added that China is prepared to strengthen communication and coordination with all parties, including Iran, to uphold the UN Charter, respect sovereign equality, and defend international fairness and justice.

Cooperation and outlook

The two sides also exchanged views on expanding cooperation across multiple fields, signaling continued engagement between Beijing and Tehran amid ongoing diplomatic efforts in the region.
