The Public Prosecutor of the Major Criminal Court in Amman has charged a young man with premeditated murder for fatally stabbing his sister, a lawyer, inside their family home in northern Amman. The charge falls under Article 328/1 of the Jordanian Penal Code.

Detention and investigation

The prosecutor ordered the suspect detained for 15 days, renewable, at the Correction and Rehabilitation Center while investigations continue.

A source close to the case said the suspect is currently undergoing intensive questioning by the prosecutor before being transferred to detention. The prosecution is also hearing statements from multiple family members to complete the case file and verify all circumstances surrounding the incident.
