The Public Security Directorate announced the arrest of two individuals involved in the armed robbery of a bank branch in Mafraq. Authorities recovered part of the stolen money, the firearm used in the crime, and the vehicle employed during the robbery.

The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate stated that the investigation team assigned to the case had successfully completed its inquiry, apprehending the suspects and seizing a significant portion of the stolen funds, the weapon, and the getaway vehicle.

According to details from the investigation, police received a report yesterday morning that two masked individuals had entered a bank branch in Mafraq, threatened staff with a firearm, and stole 16,000 Jordanian dinars before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.

A special investigative team was formed, including officers from the Criminal Investigation Department, Mafraq Police, Preventive Security, and Forensic Laboratories. The team worked to identify the suspects and collect evidence from the crime scene.

Through detailed investigation and tracking, authorities quickly determined the identities of the two suspects, located them, and conducted a raid that led to their arrest. Upon questioning, the suspects confessed to planning and committing the robbery. Authorities recovered a large portion of the stolen money, the firearm used (a pump-action gun), and the vehicle used in the escape.

The spokesperson added that the case will be referred to the judiciary once all investigations are complete, noting that the crime carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
