Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, described the recent Jordan-European Union summit as successful, highlighting the depth of Jordanian-European relations and the shared commitment to developing them across multiple fields.

Continued support and upcoming investment conference

Safadi noted that the summit covered all aspects of cooperation between Jordan and the EU, with European leaders reaffirming their ongoing support for the kingdom. It was also decided that Jordan will host a European investment conference in April, aimed at boosting economic partnerships and opportunities.

Gaza, Jerusalem, and regional peace

The summit addressed key regional issues, including a unified Jordan-EU stance on the Gaza Strip and reaffirmation of the two-state solution as the sole path to lasting peace. Safadi emphasized that both sides agreed to respect the current arrangements regarding Jordan’s Hashemite custodianship of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

Syria reconstruction and Lebanon’s stability

On Syria, Safadi said the summit reaffirmed support for efforts to rebuild the country, encourage the voluntary return of refugees, and provide them with dignified living conditions. The discussions also stressed backing Lebanon’s security, stability, and territorial integrity.

The summit reflects Jordan’s ongoing commitment to regional cooperation, economic growth, and maintaining longstanding partnerships with the European Union.
