  • Two killed and one injured in 'Israeli' drone strikes amid ongoing tensions in northeastern Lebanon

Two people were killed in an 'Israeli' strike targeting a vehicle in northeastern Lebanon.

According to the National News Agency, a drone targeted a car on the Housh Al-Sayed Ali road in Hermel district, resulting in the deaths of two individuals who were transported to the Petroleum Hospital in Hermel.

Additional Drone Strikes

The agency also reported that an 'Israeli' drone targeted a car in Jnaita, Tyre district, on Wednesday evening. The local municipality stated that one passerby was injured and taken to the hospital.

'Israeli' Military Statement

Earlier on Thursday, the 'Israeli' army announced the killing of a person in the Nasseriyah area of Lebanon. Israeli Occupation Forces spokesperson Avichay Adraee claimed on X (formerly Twitter) that the operation targeted a “terrorist element” in the region.

Context of Ongoing Tensions

'Israel' has repeatedly conducted strikes in southern Lebanon despite a ceasefire agreement signed on November 27, 2024. Since the agreement, 'Israeli' operations, including demolition and shelling, have continued nearly daily. From the ceasefire signing until November 27, 335 people were killed and 973 injured due to 'Israeli' strikes in southern Lebanon.

Humanitarian Impact

The continued operations have heightened tensions along the Lebanon-'Israel' border and contributed to ongoing civilian casualties, raising concerns about the stability of the ceasefire and the safety of residents in affected areas.
