Key Export Categories
Jordanian exports to its northern neighbor are mainly concentrated in the following sectors:
- Construction Materials and Building Industries: Cement, iron, marble, tiles, paints, pipes, and electrical equipment.
- Food and Agricultural Industries.
- Chemical Products.
- Strategic Trade Agreements
In a related development, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yaroob Qudah and his Syrian counterpart, Minister of Economy and Industry Nidal al-Shaar, reached an agreement during discussions held Monday in Damascus to further boost this growth.
The agreement stipulates "opening import and export channels between the two countries for all goods," based on the principle of "reciprocity," effective from the beginning of next year.
This move is expected to provide greater opportunities for both the public and private sectors in the two countries.
