Hamas recovers body of 'Israeli' captive from tunnel

Images released Tuesday shows the moment Palestinian resistance fighters recovered the body of an 'Israeli' captive from a tunnel north of Khan Younis, in southern Gaza.

According to local sources, the recovery operation was carried out by a specialized resistance unit that had located the tunnel earlier this week. The remains are being prepared for handover to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) as part of ongoing mediation efforts.

The discovery follows recent reports that the tunnel may have contained the body of 'Israeli' soldier Amriam Cooper, but the group has not yet officially confirmed the captive’s identity.

This comes amid heightened tensions in Gaza, where search and recovery efforts continue in several tunnel networks heavily damaged during months of 'Israeli' bombardment.
