Actress Rachel Zegler has been named one of Glamour magazine’s “Women of the Year,” capping off a year marked by both major achievements and heated debate over her public stance on Palestine.

The 24-year-old star, known for her breakout roles in West Side Story and Snow White, joins Ms. Rachel, Demi Moore and South African singer Tyla on the magazine’s annual list of influential women.

Zegler’s inclusion comes after a tumultuous year that saw her at the center of online controversy following her comments on the 'Israeli' war on Gaza.

Shortly after the Snow White trailer was released, Zegler posted “and always remember, free Palestine,” a statement that sparked backlash across social media.

While some critics accused her of wading into political territory, supporters praised Zegler for using her platform to express solidarity with Palestinians. Reports also surfaced that tensions arose between her and co-star Gal Gadot, who is 'Israeli', though neither actress publicly addressed the claims.

Despite the controversy, Zegler’s career continues to thrive. She is currently starring in a new production of Evita and remains one of Hollywood’s rising talents, known for her outspoken personality and advocacy.

Glamour’s “Women of the Year” issue celebrates women who have made an impact in their respective fields. For Zegler, that impact has extended beyond entertainment, into the conversations shaping culture and conscience alike.
