Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa will travel to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday for a working visit that includes talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and participation in the ninth Future Investment Initiative (FII) conference in Riyadh, Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported.
According to the Presidential Media Directorate, Sharaa’s discussions with the Crown Prince will focus on expanding cooperation between Damascus and Riyadh, particularly in investment and economic development. The two leaders are also expected to review pressing regional and international issues of mutual concern.
As part of his visit, President Sharaa will deliver a keynote address at the FII conference, one of the region’s most prominent global investment gatherings. He will also hold meetings with executives from leading international firms and economic institutions to attract new partnerships and investment opportunities for Syria.
Accompanying the president is a senior Syrian delegation comprising ministers, high-ranking officials, and economic experts. The delegation aims to promote Syria’s participation in what officials have described as the region’s “new economic renaissance.” They are expected to engage with major investors and financial entities on projects spanning infrastructure, housing, renewable energy, healthcare, technology, and sustainable development.
The four-day FII conference opens Tuesday under the theme “The Key to Prosperity.” The event will bring together global leaders, investors, and policymakers, featuring more than 650 speakers and 250 panel discussions. Organizers expect over 8,000 participants to attend, with sessions centered on harnessing innovation and technology to shape a more sustainable global economy.
