Amman to see road closures for marathon on Friday

The Public Security Directorate's Traffic Department has announced a plan for road closures and detours in Amman for the "Bromine Amman Marathon," which will take place next Friday, Oct. 17, 2025.

The marathon will feature a full marathon (42 km), a half-marathon (21 km), and a 10 km race.

Phased Road Closures

• Phase 1 (42k and 21k Races): Closures will begin at 12:00 AM on Friday and last until 12:00 PM. (noon).

Affected areas include the road from the new Raghadan Complex (bus terminal), Army Street, Hashemite Square, Quraish Street, Ali Bin Abi Talib Street to the Muhajireen traffic lights, Omar Mattar Street, King Talal Street, and Al-Hashemi Street.

• Phase 2 (10k Race): These closures will begin at 6:00 AM and last until 12:00 PM (noon).

Affected streets include Queen Alia Street (between Sports City Circle and Interior Ministry Circle), Queen Noor Street (between Interior Ministry Circle and the Fourth Circle), Uqba Bin Nafi' Street, and Princess Basma Street to Hashemite Square. The 10 km race is scheduled to begin at 9 AM on Friday.
