22 injured in gas leak incident at factory in Aqaba, Jordan: Authorities

The Public Security Directorate (PSD) announced Tuesday evening that its specialized teams responded to a gas leak at a factory in the southern city of Aqaba, which resulted in 22 people being injured.

All were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Details of the incident and emergency response

According to a PSD spokesperson, an emergency call was received reporting a gas leak inside one of the factories in Aqaba. Rescue and civil defense teams were immediately dispatched to the site and worked to contain the situation.

The spokesperson added that 22 factory workers were treated at the scene and transferred to hospitals. Most of the injuries were described as minor to moderate, and all patients remain under medical observation.

Authorities confirmed that the leak was brought under control and that an investigation has been opened to determine its cause.
