A joint statement by the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners Club confirmed the death of administrative detainee Ahmad Hatem Khudairat (22) from Al-Zahiriya, Hebron.

The statement noted that 'Israeli' authorities had initially reported his martyrdom but later retracted the report, stating that he had been transferred to a hospital.

The institutions emphasized that they are closely monitoring the case and will provide immediate updates should any new official information become available.

They urged media outlets and the public to rely solely on official statements regarding Khudairat’s case.

Khudairat was arrested on May 23, 2024, and unlawfully held under 'Israeli' administrative detention without charge despite suffering from chronic diabetes. He was detained for most of the period in Negev Prison under harsh conditions.

Palestinian organizations monitoring detainees report that in the past two years, 'Israel' has arrested approximately 20,000 Palestinians, including 1,600 children and 595 women, not counting detainees in Gaza or in areas of 1948 Palestine (Israel).

According to official Palestinian statistics, as of October 2025, the total number of prisoners and detainees in 'Israeli' jails exceeds 11,100, excluding those held in military camps.
