Recent data shows a significant increase in trade between Jordan and Qatar, with total exchange reaching 118 million dinars ($166 million) in the first half of 2025. This marks a substantial jump from the 64 million dinars ($90 million) recorded during the same period last year.

According to figures from the Department of Statistics, the primary driver of this growth was a sharp rise in Jordanian imports from Qatar, which surged to 60 million dinars ($84 million), up from just 11 million dinars ($15.5 million) in the first half of 2024.

Meanwhile, Jordanian exports to Qatar also continued to grow, reaching 58 million dinars ($81.7 million) in the first half of the current year, a slight increase from 53 million dinars ($74.7 million) in the same period last year. This economic growth reflects the strengthening bilateral relations, recently bolstered by high-level official visits that have opened up new avenues for trade and investment.

Nature of Commercial Exchange

The data shows that Jordan's exports to Qatar are primarily concentrated in agricultural and food products, including:

  • Fresh and processed fruits and vegetables
  • Dairy products and cheeses
  • Meat and poultry
  • Various other food products

Conversely, Jordan's imports from Qatar focus on industrial and chemical materials, such as:

  • Motor oils
  • Aluminum molds
  • Iron rods
  • Fertilizers
  • Various plastic products
